Event: SCCM Discovery Critical Care Innovation Incubator (DC2I2) 

Event Location: Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, Florida 

RFP Submission Deadline: October 16, 2024 at 11:59 pm CDT 

Event Description: The SCCM Discovery Critical Care Innovation Incubator is a groundbreaking initiative designed to spark innovation that produces impactful change in critical care. This  day-long event will foster collaboration between leading minds from diverse disciplines, all focused on advancing critical care. Whether you're an entrepreneur in the trenches or a budding clinician-innovator, this initiative offers educational sessions, workshops, and inspiring speakers to help you navigate the innovation landscape. Learn about the path from idea to implementation, including the challenges of bridging the gap between clinical needs and commercialized solutions. Gain feedback and resources to support your innovation or current venture. Openly engage with a distinguished gathering of renowned clinicians, researchers, industry leaders, government, and investors. Explore the latest breakthroughs transforming Pharma and MedTech industries, including big data and the future of AI in critical care. Network, share ideas, find solutions to common barriers, and build powerful new partnerships to accelerate innovation from concept to bedside.    

We invite proposals for pitches that showcase innovative ideas and solutions aimed at transforming critical care. If your pitch or poster is selected, you must be registered for the event to present your pitch or have your poster displayed.  

General Criteria:  

  • Any ideas and active projects that aim to be commercialized to improve care for the critically ill or injured patients. No restrictions on stage of development.  

Proposal Details: 

  • Pitch & Poster Topics: Innovations that are scalable and address unmet needs in critical care.  

  • Pitch Format: The top six pitches will be selected to present live to the audience and a panel of judges in a 3-minute pitch. From these, the judges will choose two finalists to deliver a longer 6-minute pitch. The judges will then vote to determine which finalist will receive the award.  

  • Pitch Benefits: Selected pitches will showcase their ideas to a diverse audience of industry leaders, clinicians, and investors, fostering collaborations and support for further development. The winning pitch will receive $10,000. 

  • Poster Format: Chosen posters will be displayed prominently throughout the event venue. The attendees and a judging panel will vote to determine a winner.  

  • Poster Benefits: Accepted posters will be featured prominently, providing presenters with visibility among attendees, potential collaborators, and investors interested in advancing critical care innovations. Posters will be voted on by the attendees and a judging panel. The awards for posters are listed below: 

  • Highest rated poster will receive a reward of $5,000 

  • The highest rated poster relating to patient safety will receive a reward of $2,000 

  • In the event that a patient safety poster is rated the highest overall, this poster will receive a $7,000 reward. 

Selection Criteria: Relevance to critical care innovation, potential impact on patient outcomes, novelty of the idea, and feasibility. 

Submission Requirements: Address the following in your pitch proposal. For your pitch proposal to be selected, you must be registered for the event.
